Michael Brussel
Online Community Host
Syracuse, NYMichael is a practicing painter and architectural designer in Syracuse, New York. He grew up in a rural area, observing the landscapes, architecture, and process of the farms that surrounded him. Michael went on to study Architecture at Virginia Tech, further developing an affinity for natural materials and human processes of work. While Michael’s art spans a variety of forms, his approach remains twofold: to abstract universal aspects of the human condition into simple shapes and colors, and to create things that express the nature of the materials and processes out of which they are made. Michael is continuously reading and learning about a wide range of topics, and enjoys implementing what he learns both in his practice and in conversation surrounding the art movements of today.
