6 Standout Artists at Frieze New York

As another busy art-world week simmers down for the summer ahead, here’s a small and digestible list of artists who stood out to us amongst the thousands of objects that filled the 3 floors. This list widely ranges from the vibrant contemporary trending abstract figurative to simple and tangible minimalism. There are bold references of local, national and ethnic identity, in addition to etherial sentimentality and aesthetics.

Zéh Palito’s “We Don’t Die, We Multiply”, Acrylic on canvas.

Dalton Gata’s “The Golden Watcher”, Acrylic on canvas + Naudline Pierre’s “The Way Eternal”, Acrylic on canvas.

Takako Yamaguchi’s “Fossil Fuel”, Oil and bronze leaf on canvas.

Frida Orupado’s “Parasomnia”, Mixed media.

Ann Veronica Janssens, “frisson bleu”, Dichroic laminated glass consisting of hammered glass, float glass and gelatin filters.
