Emma Schwartz (MFA, 2025) is a figurative painter based in Syracuse, New York, and is originally from Lincoln, Nebraska. She holds a BFA in Drawing and Illustration from Herron School of Art + Design and is currently an MFA Studio Art Candidate at Syracuse University. Schwartz creates a fictional realm to initiate uneasy, but necessary, conversations surrounding the ways we manifest, hunt, and experience desire and community - outside of religious and secular structures. Storage Space Gallery in Indianapolis, IN, and the Biblio Gallery in Syracuse, NY, have had solo exhibitions of her work. She has appeared in group exhibitions at the Indianapolis Art Center, Garfield Park Arts Center, the Harrison Center, and Lost Dog Gallery in Indianapolis; Governors Island, Collect Bean, and High Line Nine Gallery with Visionary Projects in NYC; Black Brick Project in Brooklyn, NY; The Gear Factory Gallery in Syracuse, NY, The Yards Collective in Rochester, NY, Soft Times Gallery in San Francisco, CA, and an upcoming show with Shug Gallery in Norwich, UK.
