"when life is full" by Lindsey Luna Tucker
Oil on panel
6 x 8"
My work is deeply rooted in a visual awareness of the physical world, but is rarely made directly from life. I use the subject of landscape as a point of departure rather than one of arrival. Paintings may be reminiscent of a specific place; however, through an exaggeration of gesture, and manipulation of color + space, my artwork favors the emotional experience of the painting over visual realism. My paintings are an invitation to explore our tendency as humans to want to name and be certain of anything and everything. Within all the uncertainty cast upon us is the very nature and beauty of life itself.
